What skill boost affects
Skill boost raises gain rate for combat and utility lines — swords, axes, blocking, bows, pickaxes and related skills shown in your menu tab. Labels vary by build; open /forums/valheim-cheat-menu-guide and note which rows move when you test.
It does not replace gear tiers. You still need the ore and boss drops from /forums/valheim-boss-progression before mistlands or ashlands gear feels fair.
Training routes that actually work
Blocking — tank a greydwarf pack with a bronze buckler on a solo world. Infinite stamina from /forums/valheim-infinite-stamina-guide keeps the rhythm steady without god mode.
Pickaxes — run a black forest copper/tin loop with ore ESP from /forums/valheim-ore-locations so swings translate into nodes, not empty hiking.
Bows — kite neck bites in meadows with modest damage multiplier from /forums/valheim-damage-multiplier-guide so fights end before boredom, not before you learn spacing.
Clan visibility
Maxed skills on day-one joiners stand out on server stat plugins. Disable boost before public clan trials unless your group expects modded progression.
